Despite having a rather lackadaisical attitude, and being prone to taking one-too-many unauthorized naps on the job — Avenelle is an experienced and quite reliable gleaner, as well as a brilliant botanist. When not on assignment for the scholars of Sharlayan, she prefers to wander about the star, study new plants, and of course... sleep away her days.

History ;

✿ Avenelle's upbringing was not unlike a typical Rava of the Golmorran Jungle, born in a small hunting village. Born Avenfloraya, she was named after the wildflowers that bloomed down from the Skatay mountains during the time she was born. She was the youngest of her mother's three children, as well as the only one of her biological siblings to mature female. She was still a kit when her older brothers came of age and were collected by their father — one of the few times she's ever seen his face.While she too honed her skills in hunting and combat like her fellow sisters of the Wood, Avenfloraya much preferred skipping her lessons and dozing off in the dots of sun that speckled through the groves, or collecting the recent blooms of her favorite flowers at the edge of the jungle floor. Though her mother disapproved of her slacking off in her training, she encouraged her daughter's love of Golmore's nature.As she got older, it became more apparent that this connection with plant-life was her true calling. By the time she was fifteen winters, she could name dozens of flowers by scent alone, and knew the extensive usage of each wild herb that grew within their home. As such, she began to document her experiences within a leather-bound sketchbook, taking detailed notes, samples and sketches from the tallest tree, to the smallest weeds. By the time she was fifteen winters, she could name dozens of flowers by scent alone, and her sketchbook pages were filled to the brim with almost every and any flora in her home.With each passing day, curiosity brewed within Avenfloraya, and she longed to see more of the star, and experience it's natural beauty. Especially as whispers of the outside floated just beneath the Green Word, taboo but inescapable conversation between young Viera.Opportunity struck when she was seventeen summers; a Sharlayan scholar, Ereux Mairort, had gotten lost within the jungle, and stumbled upon Avenfloraya in one of her secret napping spots. Initially frightened, she fled from the scholar, leaving behind her blanket and sketchbook. He collected the items, attempting to return them to her, and in such thumbed through the book; amazed by what he saw (and mistaking her passion for study), he was able to goad her out of hiding with talk of similar plants. He convinced her to travel with him to the Sharlayan Studium, where she would be able to research more of the star's flora. In exchange, she led him back safely from the jungle, and the mercy of her sisters.Excited at the prospect, she rushed home, and after a long talk with her mother, she was granted her blessing, but with the knowledge that breaking the Green Word meant she could never return home. While she and her mother shed many tears over this exile, she knew was ready, and she set out with the scholar back to Old Sharlayan. It was there she adopted the name Avenelle Florentis, and underwent her studies to become an accomplished Gleaner.Though she studied hard, and did well in school, and excelled in her expeditions as a Gleaner: it did not stop her from taking her occasional nap . . . ✿
